Session Six: The Return of the Old Ones...?
[2024/04/17 16:16] Sonja Bikergrrl: http://81.133.27.194:8000/index.html?sid=1
[2024/04/17 16:18] Sonja Bikergrrl: /me cracks open NCs and gets caught up with last events
[2024/04/17 16:19] Sonja Bikergrrl: Ggggggrrrrreeeeeetttings, Adventurers! Other players get the D&D equivalent of a banquet, you get the D&D equivalent of Ramen noodles.
[2024/04/17 16:20] Sonja Bikergrrl: I think last time, you met up with Josh in his study, and had a brief chat.
[2024/04/17 16:20] Sonja Bikergrrl: It's late evening. What have you in mind?
[2024/04/17 16:23] Alicia Frakture: Eating and if there is a place for it trying to get a bit of exercise
[2024/04/17 16:23] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: He'd talked to us about some of his agents who go out tracking down artifacts, but none are expected to be in the city right now, yes?
[2024/04/17 16:24] Sonja Bikergrrl: Josh did indeed mention an agent who is a little overdue but that's hardly unexpected.
[2024/04/17 16:28] Sonja Bikergrrl: so... as it gets late, it might be an idea for Debben to learn spells from the grimorie she has
[2024/04/17 16:29] Sonja Bikergrrl: and then of course there's the question of what you plan doing the next day
[2024/04/17 16:30] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: Ah yes, good idea, can use the other side of the study to.... study
[2024/04/17 16:32] Sonja Bikergrrl: two learnable spells.... 60% to learn. Roll under 60%, two rolls.
[2024/04/17 16:32] Sonja Bikergrrl: And make a roll with the d20, you keep forgetting it allows you to "store" a d20 result
[2024/04/17 16:34] Sonja Bikergrrl: and I'll guess characters are resting until the next morning?
[2024/04/17 16:34] Alicia Frakture: Yeah, Leesha is going to bed sore from working out but going to sleep
[2024/04/17 16:34] Sonja Bikergrrl: jeez you rolled 61%?? REALLY???
[2024/04/17 16:34] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: a 61....
[2024/04/17 16:35] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: is that better or worse than a 69?
[2024/04/17 16:35] Sonja Bikergrrl: well, that was a fail
[2024/04/17 16:36] Sonja Bikergrrl: at least you learnt Leomunds Tiny Hut
[2024/04/17 16:36] Sonja Bikergrrl: another three mage levels and you can actually cast it
[2024/04/17 16:38] Sonja Bikergrrl: After resting, everyone regains hit points and spell points. It's the second day, a nice bright dawn. Of course, Katana is nowhere to be seen. What are your intentions for this second day of city life?
[2024/04/17 16:39] Alicia Frakture: Breakfast then head to the horses, see if katana is there
[2024/04/17 16:40] Sonja Bikergrrl: Snorts from the stables suggest the horse is being brushed and fed apples, possibly to an excess, certainly of brushing.
[2024/04/17 16:41] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: Tiny hut is a nice hit
[2024/04/17 16:41] Sonja Bikergrrl: it is, when you're mage lvl 5
[2024/04/17 16:42] Sonja Bikergrrl: Meanwhile, intentions for the day? :)
[2024/04/17 16:45] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: Leads on income sources?
[2024/04/17 16:45] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: right now I think my best one is trading unless we want a high risk one
[2024/04/17 16:45] Alicia Frakture: Gonna find a magic shop. these hand wraps and boots might be magical and I would like to know what they are, maybe find a monk or someone to help train me a bit before we go on this mission, or at least give me a goal
[2024/04/17 16:45] Sonja Bikergrrl: Hmmm.... you are rather light on gold. Don't you have trade goods? Won't get rich on that, but... might be a start
[2024/04/17 16:46] Sonja Bikergrrl: No magic shops exist per se, but there are places you can get things identified
[2024/04/17 16:47] Sonja Bikergrrl: blacksmith might be a start for armour/weapons; temples are another good possibility. Identifying things, though, doesn't come cheap... just sayin'...
[2024/04/17 16:48] Alicia Frakture: Temple it is
[2024/04/17 16:49] Sonja Bikergrrl: Without the horse and cart, I'm assuming, not easy to move that through a city
[2024/04/17 16:49] Sonja Bikergrrl: /me rolls a d20 for no apparant reason; gets a 1.
[2024/04/17 16:50] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: Yeah, the trade goods is what I was thinking. Might as well look to offload then now we're in high price city
[2024/04/17 16:50] Sonja Bikergrrl: okay.... there's plenty of temples, lots of religions and deities and they all mostly get along with each other. Any particular favourite temple?
[2024/04/17 16:51] Sonja Bikergrrl: Want to sell things first? Might make sense to have some gold...
[2024/04/17 16:51] Alicia Frakture: Something more geared to fighting. as a monk I gotta get some training somewhere
[2024/04/17 16:54] Sonja Bikergrrl: /me is just looking up prices of things...
[2024/04/17 16:54] Sonja Bikergrrl: Sapphire has 1lb medicinal herbs, 1lb salt
[2024/04/17 16:54] ɗίηα ωíƖɗę ღ (kitten.venus): is quietly collecting pixie dust slowly filling the bottle acquired earlier while following her companions
[2024/04/17 16:54] Sonja Bikergrrl: Mecha has 2lb of dried fish. 1lb of salted pork. 1lb of hot peppers
[2024/04/17 16:55] Sonja Bikergrrl: Hmm. That's worth... 6gp...
[2024/04/17 16:56] Sonja Bikergrrl: well, it's 6gp you don't have right now... want to take that trade?
[2024/04/17 16:57] Alicia Frakture: Nope, gonna need that food to go with the cookwear and i guess she might need more food for their trip so...
[2024/04/17 16:57] Sonja Bikergrrl: oh-kay...
[2024/04/17 16:58] Sonja Bikergrrl: Dahlia, are you planning seeing an alchemist about trading pixie dust?
[2024/04/17 16:58] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: just the herbs and salt? Hmmmm. I thought we picked up some proper bulk-stuff
[2024/04/17 16:58] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: ....or was that where we got chased out of town again?
[2024/04/17 16:58] Sonja Bikergrrl: per the notes I'm looking at... that's what you got
[2024/04/17 16:59] ɗίηα ωíƖɗę ღ (kitten.venus): yes , wanted to see how much they will pay for it , I am hoping alot :)
[2024/04/17 17:01] Sonja Bikergrrl: need to find an alchemist, probably; failing that a wizard or possibly some temple
[2024/04/17 17:01] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: ugh. Had meant to fill up the wagon's natural tonnage with somethig cheapish
[2024/04/17 17:02] Alicia Frakture: well we are headed for a temple for me. maybe we can find one along the way that would purchase some
[2024/04/17 17:02] Sonja Bikergrrl: (That's in order of probability of them being interested and getting a better price.)
[2024/04/17 17:03] Sonja Bikergrrl: You could try that alchemist you went to yesterday.
[2024/04/17 17:03] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: yeah, but the salt and herbs weren't meant for trading, but for our own supplies.
[2024/04/17 17:04] ɗίηα ωíƖɗę ღ (kitten.venus): the alchemist might be nice and they have honey
[2024/04/17 17:05] Alicia Frakture: okay then let's go there
[2024/04/17 17:06] Sonja Bikergrrl: On the way to the alchemist you hear that blacksmith hammer. Clank... Clank... Clankclank.. Clank... Clank... Clankclank... and somewhere not far, a vendors' voice: "Apples! Oranges. Apples! Oranges."
[2024/04/17 17:06] Sonja Bikergrrl: The trip to the alchemist is otherwise uneventful; he looks out from his office and peers at you all. "Ah, you again. Did you get your black powder?"
[2024/04/17 17:07] ɗίηα ωíƖɗę ღ (kitten.venus): /me looks around in the direction of the sounds as we make our way to the alchemist
[2024/04/17 17:07] Sonja Bikergrrl: d20 Dahlia
[2024/04/17 17:07] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: We did, right?
[2024/04/17 17:08] Sonja Bikergrrl: Oddly, you see no sign of any blacksmith or vendor. You do notice a furtive figure duck into an alleyway as you look.
[2024/04/17 17:08] Sonja Bikergrrl: And yes, you did, you bought three pouches from Mae Lin
[2024/04/17 17:08] Alicia Frakture: Yep I paid for them for you
[2024/04/17 17:09] Sonja Bikergrrl: Along with a length of matchcord.
[2024/04/17 17:09] ɗίηα ωíƖɗę ღ (kitten.venus): /me turns to her companions, "there was astrange figure that hid when we were walking past where the sounds were loud in the streets. all that banging and someone yelling about selling fruit"
[2024/04/17 17:10] Sonja Bikergrrl: Katana mumbles about cities.
[2024/04/17 17:10] Alicia Frakture: They did that yesterday too but we didn't see anyone.
[2024/04/17 17:11] Sonja Bikergrrl: Alchemist: "So... can I help you?"
[2024/04/17 17:11] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "We did, actually." She pats her new powder horn at her side.
[2024/04/17 17:11] Sonja Bikergrrl: Alchemist: "Ah. Good! What can I do for you today?"
[2024/04/17 17:12] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "More followers!" She ponders, looking to Leesha and Dhalia, getting a idea. Maybe thats a way to get some money, pulling a reverse muggig.
[2024/04/17 17:12] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: But first, discussions!
[2024/04/17 17:13] Alicia Frakture: Leesha cocks her head to Debben
[2024/04/17 17:16] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: Debben pulls Leesha to the corner. "The people following us... think we can turn it around on them? Not in here, obviously, too nice an establishment, but somewhere... low in attention."
[2024/04/17 17:16] Alicia Frakture: /me Leesha cocks her head again."You mean like those Frenz losers?
[2024/04/17 17:20] Sonja Bikergrrl: Dahlia?
[2024/04/17 17:21] ɗίηα ωíƖɗę ღ (kitten.venus): while paying attention to her companions she turns to speak to the alchemist, "I was wondering how much you might pay for a full potion bottle of pixie dust? "
[2024/04/17 17:21] Sonja Bikergrrl: Alchemist: "A full potion bottle!? How much do you actually have...?"
[2024/04/17 17:22] ɗίηα ωíƖɗę ღ (kitten.venus): "for now was just interested in how much a single bottle might be worth to you ?"
[2024/04/17 17:24] Sonja Bikergrrl: Alchemist: "I am not sure there'd be enough gold in the whole of the city for that much! Now if you had a pinch, that might be... oh, let me see..." (rummages in some old ledgers) "...shall we say 250gp for a good sized pinch?"
[2024/04/17 17:26] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: Debben pauses when she hears that number, going quiet and just listening.
[2024/04/17 17:26] Sonja Bikergrrl: Alchemist: "Are you prepared to trade...? How long are you staying in the city...?"
[2024/04/17 17:26] ɗίηα ωíƖɗę ღ (kitten.venus): she reached into her bag not pulling out the bottle and hands him a pinch , "Please give the money to my companions, its better for big people anyway. Thank you so much, you have been nice since our first meeting."
[2024/04/17 17:28] Sonja Bikergrrl: Alchemist: "Hmmm... this needs to be stored carefully... magical energies and essences are very fragile."
[2024/04/17 17:32] Alicia Frakture: Leesha smirks."That works too."
[2024/04/17 17:32] Sonja Bikergrrl: Alchemist: "So, how long are you here for..?"
[2024/04/17 17:33] ɗίηα ωíƖɗę ღ (kitten.venus): "not sure, it could be days or longer"
[2024/04/17 17:34] Sonja Bikergrrl: Alchemist: "How many days? Five? Six?"
[2024/04/17 17:34] ɗίηα ωíƖɗę ღ (kitten.venus): looked to her companions, very unsure how to answer
[2024/04/17 17:35] Sonja Bikergrrl: (The blacksmith requires another six days, and, Debben might need a day with it after that. As a minimum.)
[2024/04/17 17:36] Alicia Frakture: I think like 6 -7 days , why do you ask?
[2024/04/17 17:36] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "Week or so, yes. Depending on the jobs we take up from there, harder to say."
[2024/04/17 17:37] Sonja Bikergrrl: Alchemist: "Mm. Well, we could draw up a contract, you give me dust for the next six days, and I'll pay you the... six times two fifty... that's... a thousand five hundred? I'll pay that upfront."
[2024/04/17 17:38] Sonja Bikergrrl: And on that offer, as everyone says, never decide at once! It's 1:40 AM and I do need to sleep sometime :)
[2024/04/17 17:38] ɗίηα ωíƖɗę ღ (kitten.venus): /me nodded, "well will make sure to bring a pinch each day, for the next six days. that sound slike a fair trade"
[2024/04/17 17:39] Sonja Bikergrrl: Alchemist: "It would have to be, er, supplied here. Or it won't keep!"
[2024/04/17 17:39] Sonja Bikergrrl: /me has to dash quickly to bed now... next time, well, that's next time!
